Alex a.k.a Shakey, was an amazing athlete who represented Australia at the 2000 and 2004 Paralympic
Games, who was part of the 2004 Gold medalist Relay team. Shakey wasnt just an athlete but also the
funniest man you could ever imagine, he made you laugh whenever you felt down and was always there
on pool deck to encourage everyone.

So long Alex.
It's such a shame that we never got to meet, I would have been proud to call you my uncle. You made such a difference in the lives of Nikki and Eden, and for that I will always love and respect you. May your memory live on like I know your spirit will in the hearts of everyone you touched. Rest in peace my good man, I look forward to the day we meet at last.
Love always, your nephew

Shakey

I have been thinking of you so much in the last few days.
I will never understand why you had to leave us so young, but I will never forget the great times we had travelling to swim meets all over the world.

You didnt just win gold medals in the pool, you lived a gold medal life, touching us all with your incredible ability to make people laugh no matter what the situation. I will miss you xoxox
